The Vegan Society

About the Vegan Society

The Vegan Society is a British/UK non profit organisation founded in November 1944 by founder Donald Watson and six founding members. At that time, all the founding members were NON-DAIRY VEGETARIANS , and they wanted their own unique identity unlike ordinary vegetarians, so they finally created a new word, VEGAN .

As the world's oldest and original VEGAN organization, more than 70 years later, it is still more active than any other vegan organization in the world, spreading the concept and necessity of being vegan.

In addition, various campaigns are held every year through the online/offline community with excellent cohesiveness, and we strive to promote animal welfare, environmental protection, and human health.
